Design of some Heterogeneous Apertures and Computation of Resolution
Hamed, Abdallah;
Abstract
In this paper, three models of heterogeneous nonrotational symmetric apertures are suggested. The 1st aperture has a uniform half-circle and the other has a linear function while the
2nd aperture has a uniform half-circle combined with a quadratic function for the other half of the circle. The 3rd model of aperture consists of half linear and half hamming functions.
The Point Spread Function (PSF) is computed in all apertures and compared with circular apertures. In addition, the PSF for the rotation heterogeneous apertures is computed. The object
of this study is the computation of the resolution from the PSF for these heterogeneous apertures and its comparison with the case of uniform circular apertures. Finally, the autocorrelation of the apertures under investigation, which represents the
Coherent Transfer Function (CTF) in the Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (CLSM), is computed. All images were obtained to make use of Mat-Lab code.
