Abstract
The genus Glyphopneustes Pomel, 1869 is revised because a comparison of the morphological features of
the type species, G. problematicus (Cotteau, 1866), and those of Glyphopneustes hattaensis Ali, 1992, had
revealed the presence of significant differences. Based on these, a new genus, Aliopsis, is here erected,
with G. hattaensis as its type species. The new genus is described systematically and attributed to the
family Acropeltidae Lambert and Thiery, 1914 in the order Arbacioida Gregory, 1900.
