Abstract


The seven ostraca published below are kept in the Egyptian Museum at Cairo under the register number 18955. The texts are receipts for money taxes, six of them being issued by Kalasiris, and one by Iounius Mousaius, the tax farmer at the port of Syene; that receipt was written by Iounius Valens, who appears also in four of the receipts issued by Kalasiris as published here.
