Abstract: This paper aims to study the use of Ancient Greek diminutives in the comedies of Aristophanes. Diminutives are denominatives formed from the stems of substantives by various suffixes such as
Aristophanes used diminutives for both affection and contempt. He employed diminutives to express his political views in many plays; for sarcasm and mockery of people or judges or courts or wealth.
