New Nano optical sensors for the assessment of some biomarkers of cancer diseases in human body

Ahmed Hossuany Hefny Mohammed;

Abstract

The study presented in this thesis include development and the combination between some techniques and technologies such as Analytical chemistry, Biochemistry, Photochemistry and Nanotechnology for the determination of some biomarkers {e.g. the carbohydrate antigen ( CA15.3 ), the prostate-specific antigen ( PSA ), Alpha feto protein ( AFP ), Carbohydrate antigen ( CA19.9 ) }.as biomarkers for the determination of some cancer diseases using some real samples.
The thesis is divided into 5 chapters:
Chapter One:
Includes a general introduction on lanthanides, optical sensors , fluorescence , chronic diseases and other methods used for determination of the carbohydrate antigen (CA15.3), the prostate-specific antigen (PSA), Alpha feto protein (AFP) and Carbohydrate antigen (CA19.9) as biomarkers for some cancer diseases using some real samples.
Chapter Two:
Describes a new nano-optical sensor { Eu(TTA)3Phen } complex for assessment of biomarker ( CA15.3) . The optimal experimental conditions such as solvent, pH and molar ratio corresponding to maximum luminescence intensity were investigated. Under optimal conditions, the luminescence intensity of { Eu(TTA)3Phen } complex is inversely proportional to the concentration of ( CA15.3) in range ( 1.6 X 10-9 – 2.1 X 10-6 ) mol L−1, ( r = 0.999 ). The detection limit (S:N=3) ( LOD) and quantitation limit of detection (LOQ) are (7.5 x 10-10 and 2.27 x 10-9 ) mol L-1 respectively. This method is used for early diagnosis of some cancer diseases ( breast cancer ) .
Chapter Three:
Describes a new nano-optical sensor Coumarin complex for assessment of ( PSA) .The optimal experimental conditions such as solvent, pH and molar ratio corresponding to maximum luminescence intensity were investigated. Under optimal conditions, the luminescence intensity of Coumarin complex is inversely proportional to the concentration of ( PSA ) in range ( 1.6 X 10-9 – 2.1 X 10-6 ) mol L−1, ( r = 0.999 ). The detection limit ( S:N=3) ( LOD) and quantitation limit of detection (LOQ) are (7.5 x 10-10 and 2.27 x 10-9 ) mol L-1 respectively. This method is used for early diagnosis of some cancer diseases ( Prostate Cancer ) .
