Abstract

The geological history of the study area dates back to the
Precambrian, the age of African Shield A significant part of this shield is
seen to the
east of the area studied , manifested in the multicolored,
serrated and high mountains known as the Red Sea Hills Over this shield
at the piedmont of the basement mountains lies a table

of highly tilted

is due to the westward retreat of this horizontal drape away from the
basement
mountains that
this
the Paleozoic sediments in
remote area
became exposed . In general the sediments make two sinuous belts running
in juxtaposition to the eastern basement mountains
