Dynamic Performance Enhancement of a Grid Connected Photovoltaic System using Advanced Control Strategies

Abeer Shaban Abd El Mohsen Omar;

Abstract

 This chapter describes a novel application of the EPO to optimize PV controller tuning in grid-connected PV systems. Therefore, low voltage ride through is one of the most critical aspects that a PV system must have. LVRT capability is defined as the commitment of the PV system's commitment to remain grid-connected in the case of grid failures, as determined by using photovoltaic system PI controllers and comparing them to old methods to obtain PI controller parameters that ensure the controllers' optimal configuration. At a symmetrical fault, the Emperor Penguin Optimizer is used to increase the fitness feature and enhance the low voltage ride-through capabilities.
