Narrating Art History from a Feminist Revisionist Perspective in Karen Essex’s Leonardo’s Swans and Stealing Athena

Marina Nagy Ishak Marcos;

Abstract

While there are remarkable feminist literary genres, this research is concerned with one of the American feminist writers who contributed to revising history. Feminist history refers to the re-reading of history from a female perspective. In the past few decades, women have questioned inequalities in their own lives. Now they turn to history to understand the roots of their oppression. They re-examine, revise and re-write history accounts through a new feminist lens.
