Abstract


The World Health Organization has described obesity as the greatest current threat to human health. The rising prevalence of obesity is causing a major health burden in terms of morbidity and mortality. An estimated number of 400 million adults are classified as obese and 1.6 billion are overweight.
The complications of obesity and comorbidities, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, hypertension, coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), hyperlipidemia, osteoarthritis, and an increase in cancer risk, are placing growing demand on healthcare resources.
Our study is a randomized clinical trial comparative study between laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy with cruroplasty and Roux-en-Y gasrtric bypass in morbid obese patients with GERD grade (A) and (B) by preoperative endoscopy according to weight loss and GERD symptoms improvement.
Our study conducted 50 morbid obese patients with GERD grade (A) and (B)
Those patients were randomly subdivided into 2 groups, each group contain 25 patients.
