Analytical Study on Some Skeletal Muscle Relaxants and Anti-spastic Drugs

Abstract
In this work, different analytical methods for analysis of some skeletal muscle relaxants (SMR) were developed (chemometrics, derivative difference spectrophotometry, derivative ratio spectrophotometry and TLC-Densitometry). The aim of this work is to develop simple and accurate methods for determination of these drugs in their mixtures with analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or in presence of degradation product. The chosen drugs are namely chlorzoxazone and thiocolchicoside.
The thesis comprises four parts:-
Part (I): General Introduction
This section is concerned with definition and classification of SMR. It includes a literature review on the analysis of chlorzoxazone and thiocolchicoside.
Part (II): Determination of (Chlorzoxazone- Paracetamol) and (Chlorzoxazone-Ketoprofen)Using Chemometric Methods.
Section A: Simultaneous determination of (chlorzoxazone - paracetamol) and (chlorzoxazone - ketoprofen) in their binary mixtures using Classical Least Squares method (CLS).
In this section, simultaneous determination of chlorzoxazone in its binary mixtures with paracetamol or with ketoprofen was performed using Classical Least Squares (CLS) method. Wavelength range 350-250 nm was selected. Application range was found to be 3.20-32.00 pg.mf1
