Abstract


gypt has long been a destination and transit country for large numbers of refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants from across Africa and the Middle East. Refugees and asylum-seekers live in an urban setting in Egypt, and largely concentrated in Greater Cairo, A number of post-migration stressors have been ‎shown to adversely affect mental health in refugees ‎resettled in Egypt. Important post-migration ‎stressors include perceived discrimination, lack of ‎economic opportunity, lack of access to resources, ‎social isolation, family concerns, and poor language ‎proficiency.
Aim of the study
This study aims to assess post-migration stressors and mental well-being among African refugees in Greater Cairo
This aim was achieved through answering the following questions:
1. What are the post-migration stressors among African refugees in Greater Cairo?
2. What are the levels of mental well-being among African refugees in Greater Cairo?
3. What is the relation between post-migration stressors and the mental well-being among African refugees in Greater Cairo?
