ROLE OF FDG PET/CT IN EVALUATION OF PATIENTS WITH METASTATIC CANCER BREAST

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer as well as the most common cause of cancer death in women, approximately 30% of breast cancer patients are at the risk of developing recurrence or distant metastasis. The hormone receptor-positive subtypes (luminal A and luminal B) are the most common subtypes, meanwhile, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-overexpressing (HR− /HER2+) and triple-negative (HR− /HER2−) subtypes are more aggressive subtypes and have poorer outcomes.
