SPECIAL FIBROUS HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE

Abstract
This research work is mainly to study the possibility of producing high petfmmance fibrous concrete with the Egyptian materials, and to assess its properties in the fresh and haJdened stages, also to detect the effects of the aggregate type, cementitious materials content, polypropylene fibers and steel fibers on the properties of the produced concrete.
This thesis, contains a great deal of the necessary information about high strength concrete, fibrous concrete and high strength fibrous concrete.
A stuvcy of the available aggregate quatTies in the region of Suez Canal and Sinai was made and the properties of these materials were measured. The propetties, composition and localities in Sinai of Gabbro, one of Sinai's treasures proposed to be used as concrete coarse aggregate for the first time in Egypt, are presented.
Based on the experimental results, it was conducted that it is possible to produce high perfonnance concrete with the Egyptiatl materials. The effects of changing the aggregate
type, cementitious matetials content and fibers type on the slum' p, density, compressive
stren ,>th, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, poison's ratio, bond strength and

permeability of the different concrete mixes were investigated. The fonnulae relating the
dilTerent properties of the produced concrete were expressed
