Abstract


ABSTRACT
)iabetes Mellitus remains one of the most challenging diseases for vorkers in the medical field as it affects large sector of the population . m this study we studied 50 patients and 30 age matched control groups.
'aboratory assessments including Hb , kidney functions and blood sugar,
DF , CAPILLAROSCOPY, COLOR CODED DUPLEX STUDY .
3EGMENTAL PRES SUER STUDY were done for all the patients and this showed that LDF parameters and nail fold capillaroscopic parameters
were significantly affectred by diabetes mellitus and the effects are related to the state of glyceamic control , duration of diabetes, age of the patient and the presence of other organ affection as retinopathy
,nephropathy and peripheral neuropathy. Microcirculatory assessment in
diabetic patients is needed to assess progression and to direct therapy. Also it is useful for assessing other collagen diseases as sclerodenna and SLE as they are non invasive and easily reproducible.
