Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of two widely and effectively used anticoccidial drugs (Halofuginone and Lasalocid) on immune response to Newcastle disease vaccine in broiler chickens.
In this investigation; 7 5 cobb 500 chicks of one day old were reared under restrict hygienic measures till they became 56 days old. The chickens at 21 days old were vaccinated with 0.1 ml Newcastle disease vaccine (intramuscularlly). In addition; 21 cockerels (cobb 500, three month old of 1.8 kg b.wt.) were used for proceeding delayed hypersensitivity test.
The selected drugs were mixed with the ration at concentrations of 3 and 7 5 ppm halofuginone and lasalocid; respectively.
The effects of halofuginone and lasalocid on immune response to Newcastle disease vaccine were studied in three groups of 10 chickens each. The tested drugs were given with the ration for 15 days before or after vaccination and for 7 days before and 8 days after vaccination (during vaccination).
