Staff Nurses Perception Regarding Nursing Managers` Leadership Practices and it`s Relation to Their Knowledge Sharing

Abstract


Leadership practices are always seeking to improve the skills of their subordinates and motivate them toward the success of the whole team and organization. Managers should acts as a motivational factors for promoting knowledge sharing and transfer in the organizations through knowledge sharing systems that can lead to best performance of every one individually or within a team, enhancing in this way their relationship and knowledge sharing.
This study aimed at assessing staff nurses perception regarding nursing managers` leadership practices and it`s relation to their knowledge sharing .Descriptive correlational design was used in carrying out this study. The study conducted at El Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital which affiliated to Specialized Medical Centers. Study subjects were 129 out of 190staff nurses.
Data was collected by two tools namely: Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) and Knowledge Sharing questionnaire. First tool consisted of five dimensions: enable others to act, inspire a shared vision, encourage the heart, model the way and challenge the process. Second tool consisted of two dimensions: Individual knowledge sharing and Organizational knowledge sharing.
