Abeer Adly Mahmoud Ashry;

Abstract

Because coronary heart diseases constitute a m or health problem all over the world and an increasing problem in our community; our study aimed at early detection of risks of CHD among the AUS.
The aim of this study was to assess CHD risks and provide an update guideline for prevention among the studied group.
The study was carried out on data of 593 of AUS who attended the medical check up unit during a period of 4 years. All candidates underwent routine clinical examination, chest X-ray, ECG, abdominal ultrasonography and echocardiography if needed. Total lipogram (Serum cholesterol, LDL, HDL, AND Triglyceride) and blood sugar were also routine!y estimated.
Available data for each staff member was recorded in a pre-coded sheet, which had been completed and revised before data entry by assessing the individual risk factors for CHD in the next 10 years for AUS who are free of CHD.
It was found that the rate of attendance of AUS was significantly low (about 30%) of the supposed number to be examined, This low response rate should be overcomed by a better communication and good explanation of the goals that are planned to achieve to improve the health status of this group through the medical check up unit.
