Abstract
The study was carried out to investigate the pattern of medical care utilization and the financial expenditure among the consumers of services of El-Kabbary Medical Center which is affiliated to the Ministry of Health in
\ Alexandria..
The total sample was 1500 consumers ( 750 from each of the free departments e.nd cost-sharing departments • The
sample was disributed according to the annual percent
ratio consumers of 1992 of five departments( Surgery '
Internal Medicine, Gynaecology, Pediatrics and
Dentistry ) •
Questionaire was done to the consumer, where it const•
itutes of three parts •
/ First part included information that help for determin• ation of their socioeconomic levels ( as percapita. income, occupation and the social living of their families ) •
Second part contained questions to inform the investig• ator about the complaint of the current episode the medications• prescribed for him I her and their prices, also the sources of medications to obtain. It contained questions to inform about the sources of medical services
