Abstract

The effect of inoculation of lumpy skin disease

•. ,

virus on the immune system of rabbits was studied and evaluation of the influence of this virus on cell medi- ated immunity as well as the humoral immune response.

klocally isolated strain of LSD virus (Ismailia strain) was used for such a purpose.

LSDV could be propagated in primary cell culijures as FSM and continuous cell culture as Vero cells. The time of appearance of cytopathic effects was 5-7 daysf post inoculation .

Different parameters had been considered to evalu- ate the immunity as lymphocyte transformation test as a parameter for cell mediated immunity and serum neutraii- zation test and cell ELISA as a parameter for humoral immunity.

For such purpose, two groups of 3 months old rabbits included:

Group 1: inoculated animals with LSDV.

Group 2: Control animals not inoculated with LSDV.
