Plasma Fibronectin in Preeclampsia and Intrauterine Growth Retardation

Abstract


Plasma fibronectin level was measured in a 70 patients, admitted to Ain Shams Maternity Hospital. These 70 patients were divided into 4 clinical groups as follows, 20 normal pregnant women as a control group, 20 mild preeclamptic women and 15 preeclampsia with IUGR and 15 IUGR alone. Also, serum uric acid and creatinine was measured in the same group. We had found that patients with preeclampsia and IUGR had high level of plasma fibronectin (67.1±20.8), than preeclampsia (51.9±9.4), and also higher than IUGR alone (44.7±3.4) and control (32.9±8.9)mgjdl. We found also in this work negative correlation betweenm fibronectin level and birth weight in the different studied groups, except cases with IUGR alone (P
