Abstract


The aim of this work is the evaluation of plasma Von Willebrand Factor in diabetic patients, both type I (insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) and type II (non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) , as a marker of generalized endothelial damage and a predictor for micro
vascular complication .


. The present study included sixty diabetic patients. Thirty patients type 1 diabetese mellitus which then subdivided according to urinary albumin excretion to groupll . A (Normoalbuminurea) ten patients .group II B (Microalbuminurea) ten patients, group II C (Macroalbuminurea) ten patients .Thirty patients of type II diabetes
mellitus which then subdivided according to urinary albumin
• excretion to group III A (Normoalbuminurea) ten patients , group HI B (Microalbuminurea) ten patients , group III C (Macroalbuminurea)

ten patients .In addetion , ten helthy subjects as a control group.






All the patients and control were subjected • to full clinical history, examination and laboratory investigations such as glycated heamoglobin fasting and post prandial blood sugar, urine analysis
,complete blood picture ,serum lipid profil and Von willebrand factor

level.
