Abstract


The successful tTansfeT of tissue and organs from one individual to another had hecome the gTeat ai. hievements of modern medic.:ine and surgeTy.
Hc"lwever, we must he :realistic, inspite of the suc­ c:esses of transplantation have been impressive, Yet it is still incomplete.
In the aspect of liver t:ransplantation. The diffi- culties to o.btain the liver fr•om cadaver•s, the length of the procedures and the suital:Jility of the gTaft size persauded many centers to think in partial living•-related donors and in auxiliary tr•ansplantation.
These experimental studies were done in the slu•g•ical c:lepartment-faculty of medicine and surg•ical department of verterinary medicine - A:::si ut University in the 1-)eri od of Dec. 1989 Jan. 1993.
This work was perfonned to study the effects of partial hepatectomy and evaluate the technique of Auxil­ iary partial liver tTans1-)lantation.
The work incllided 50 healthy mong-rel dogs, weig•hing
l)etween 10-25 Kg•s (mean 17.5 Kg•s).
