Abstract

Nowadays, in our Arab world, young people are experiencing many forms of transformation, transformation in lifestyles, patterns of thinking and behavior, which can be described as a transitional phase that is characterized by the overlap between the traditional form and the modern one, both at the level of social or cultural relations and the common values. The overlap between the local and the global ways, due to the growing influence of the communication and information technology revolution, has affected various social strata. As a result of the continuous changes, a lot of youth feel alienated, hopeless . They feel social isolation and being alienated from themselves. They suffer being in continuous struggle due to their dilemma between the new values and the inherited original ones. At this moment, the crisis occurred, as they became sharply separated from society or nature, and even from themselves and their actions. They were no longer able to communicate with themselves or with others pleasingly . Thus , they became unable to realize themselves or their being in this changing world, and this is known as Identity Crisis among youth . Hence, examining the identity crisis and its relationship to the culture of means of communication among young people, in general , has become a very important issue , as all of us experience the behavior of some youth who reject and resist the culture of society, in addition to the behavior of the majority of the youth who are trying to emulate other cultures to satisfy certain aspirations. Moreover, we find some youth deny and resist their cultural identity and its characteristics, and may even despise their customs, values and originality, while others cling to the use of Frankish dialect
