Abstract

Psoriasis rs an aseptic

keratinocyte proliferation and

inflammatory skin disease with

neutrophil infiltration into the

epidermis. It is• now recognized 'that psoriasis rs a heterogeneous disease with variability among patients due to their genetic susceptibility to the disease, as well as in the antigens, super- antigens and environmental factors that trigger the development of the lesions. IL-1, JL-6 and TNF-a are known that to be the inflammatory cytokines involved in most inflammation.

Thirty patients previously, diagnosted as psonasis psonasis (28 chronic plaque psoriasis and 2 guttate psoriasis) were included in this study. 15 healthy person wher also included in this study as control groups. Immunological changes were investigated by the detection of the following cytokines (IL-la, IL-6 and TNF-a) and T-lymphocytes subpopulation in their blood, also
ultrastructural changes were studied by electromicroscopy .

CD4

. Our. immunological study revealed a decrease in number of

(TH) in the blood of psoriatic patients, compared to the

control group. This decrease is statistically significant. Also, there are no clear differences m serum JL-1 a levels between the psoriatic patients and healthy controls. Also, our results revealed
