Abstract


The demand on livestock as a source of protein is increasing with the increase of world population which approaches 8 billion. As a result it is required to protect livestock against losses and diseases as it affects food security and country's economy. It is essential to monitor livestock performance and increase their production to meet this global demand. It was a difficult process to observe livestock performance as it took a lot of time to detect whether they had a health problem or not. But nowadays, Researchers introduced advanced livestock performance monitoring systems depending on remote sensors which collect data about livestock performance and send it wirelessly to the owner to take the necessary action.
IoT is one of the latest technologies used to monitor livestock performance and increase their productivity but it requires the presence of a special type of networks as one of the challenges of IoT is the problem of energy and power efficient communication technologies. As a result, a system of a mobile Adhoc network which is an energy aware network is designed consisting of a number of nodes and each node consists of a group of sensors. These sensors communicate with IoT network to provide it with the collected data which allows the early detection and treatment of diseases which in turns save time and money.
