Abstract

Surgical reshaping of the nose is nowadays a common requirement for facial reconstructive and plastic surgery. Nasal Preoperative images are crucial to rhinoplasty surgery. Frontal, right/left oblique, right/left lateral, as well as basal are the six standard rhinoplasty known views.
Rhinoplasty is one of the challenging operations in the plastic surgeries. The first cosmetic rhinoplasty was performed by Roe, in 1887, secondary to a pug nose deformity and he then considered as the father of aesthetic rhinoplasty. 7years later, Jacques Joseph previously published similar methods, assembly without knowing of Roe’s reports, after that he considered as the founder of the functional rhinoplasty. Gunter became a supporter of the open technique and Sheen for closed rhinoplasty approach in the 1990s. This debate is still found till now over the advantages and disadvantages of a closed versus open rhinoplasty. Both approaches provide the surgeon the ability to do rhinoplasty, but each has its advisable anatomical indications, advantages as well as disadvantages.
