Assessment of Nurses’ Awareness Regarding Pediatric Patient Safety at Cardiovascular Hospital
Soheir Abd Eltwab Mostafa;
Abstract
Pediatric patient safety in cardiovascular hospital is a main goal in any treatment protocol and a central concern of current health-care delivery systems (World Health Organization (WHO), 2017). So, over the past several years, pediatric patient safety has become a key priority for health systems. Since the publication of the 1999 IOM report “To Err Is Human: Building a Safer Health System,” there have been dramatic increases in research, standards, collaborative efforts, education, and measures focused on pediatric patient safety and prevent adverse events in healthcare. Much has been learned about pediatric patient safety. However, despite increased awareness, harm to pediatric patients safety is still common and has not shown a significant decline.
