BEHAVIOR OF SHALLOW WIDE RC BEAMS UNDER ECCENTRIC LOADING

Samer Magdy Mahmoud Mohamed;

Abstract

Seven shallow wide beam specimens of 30 Mpa average compressive strength with two point loads were tested. All specimens were supported on steel blocks which tend to be fully fixed. All specimens had the same length, width and height ( Length L=1.7m, Width b=0.6m, Height t=0.2m, Depth d=0.18m, Cover=20mm). Beams were divided into 3 groups according to the studied parameters. First group consisted of three beams having three different load eccentricity ( e= 0, 10cm, 20cm ), The second group consisted of two beams with different vertical stirrups spacing ( s= 10cm, 5cm ) and the third group consisted of two beams having different main reinforcement distributions
