Effect of Awareness Program on Habits and Practice among Women in Postpartum Period

Abstract


The postpartum period is a period of transition that marks a turning point by introducing a new member to the family. During this period, mothers adapt themselves to the postpartum changes and a new family structure, experience a change in their physiological and psychological functions, and get accustomed to their maternal role. The postpartum period is also a time of great vulnerability for many women throughout the world. Therefore there are many culturally-specific traditional care practices for postpartum women are observed to ensure recovery and avoid health problems in later years (Karami et al., 2020).
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the awareness program on the habits and practice among women in postpartum period.
Research design:-
Quasi-experimental (time serial) design was used to conduct this study.
Setting:-
The study was conducted in the postpartum inpatient units at Al Galaa Educational Maternity Hospital because of the high flow rate (1672 cases annually).
