Health care provider knowledge regarding stem cells

Abstract


Background: Stem cell Are mother cells that have the potential to become any type of cell in the body.One of the main characteristics of stem cells is their ability to self renew or multiply while maintaining the potential to develop into other types of cells. Bredeson C, Leger C,2006. Subject and Methods: After approval from the Ain shams university maternal hospital director, and dean of faculty of nursing. Oral consent was taken from 70 of health care providers. A descriptive correlational design study was conducted. Using demographic data sheet, - A constructed Arabic questionnaire sheet. Results: there were the majority of health care providers (nurses) had no information 67% and 100% had positive information (doctors). Conclusion: The study revaluated that, there are many factors which effect health care providers and percentage of knowledge level such as level of education, shortage of staff especially the nurses and quality of provided service (training staff) Recommendations: Raising awareness of health care providers to the importance of stem cells, Health care providers should be informed about stem cells and current indications for its, collection, storage, and uses based on scientific evidence, Health care providers should receive training program regard stem cells
