FIELD APPLICATION OF SOME MICROBIAL CONTROL AGENTS AGAINST SOME COMMON PLANT PARASITIC NEMATODES IN EGYPT
Ezzat-Mohamed Abd El- Baky Noweer;
Abstract
The present study aimed towards the applications in agricultural fields of biocontrol agents materials, compounds or different means against certain plant- parasitic nematodes of economic importance on some vital agricultural crops. The main pre-requisite for that aim is the availability of the biocontrol agents which the study succeeded through the cooperation with private sector companies- to apply in the different experiments of the study. The following points summarize the different eight experiments and study points in the thesis:
1- Effects of eight organic materials and soil amendments on growth and sporulation of the nematode- attraping fungus Dactylaria brochopaga were studied to find a successful media for the important fungus wheat straw medium was found to be the quickest and most fruitful in encouraging the growth and sporulation of the fungus. This encouraging effect of wheat straw was also evident on Arthrobotrys oligospora and Dactyle/la geophyropaga.
2- In a field experiment in Mansouria (Giza) on tomato Lycopersicon esculentum L. cv. Super strain B infested with Meloidogvne incognita: six microbial control materials- D. brochopaga(Dbx-1003 biocompound),Bacillus thrumbigiensis (Btx), Trichoderma harzianum (Thx), T.viride (Tvx), A. dactyloides (Adx-1010 biocompound) and D. thaumasia var. longa ( Dtlx- 1011 biocompound)- were compared to oxamyl (Vydate) and untreated control. The percentage mean reduction in soil larval populations due to treatments were led by Dtlx- 1011 biocompound (97.7%) followed by Dbx-1003 (89%), Btx (83.7%),
