Abstract


This study aimed to test the effectiveness of the Portage program in improving some aspects of cognitive mental development in children with minor mental disabilities, used in the study Experimental approach.
Sample: Consisted of a group of (20) children, (10) female officers and (10) experimental sedites with minor mental disabilities between the ages of (4-7) years.
Tools: Stanford Binet -in Measure of Intelligence The Fourth Image (Legalization of Louis Kamel Malika, 1998) And the measure of the social and economic level of the family (Preparation of Abdulaziz Al-shakhs, 2013), and the adaptive behavior measure (Translated by Safwat Faraj, Nahid Ramzi, 2001) , and the child cognitive growth test(preparation of. Hoda Mohamed Kenawy, Adel Abdulla Mohamed, 1995) , and The Portage Program (by Camilla Ibrahim Abdel Fattah et al., 2007).
Results: In general, the program has proven effective in improving cognitive mental development in children with minor mental disabilities.
