MARINE STREPTOMYCETES AS A SOURCE OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS AGAINST PATHOGENIC BACTERIA: AN EVOLUTIONARY VIEW OF ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE
AYATOLLAH SAMIR ABDEL-MONIEM EL-ZAYAT;
Abstract
The resistance of infectious bacteria to antibiotics constitutes a serious threat to public health and considered the most important pressing issue worldwide at present. Bearing in mind that the risk to public health is related to the continuous upsurge rates of pathogens resistance to antibiotics, the major targets of the present study adopted two strategies and conducted in two parts. One is dealing with the possibility to explore a new antagonistic biomolecule, while the other to steer and slow the evolutionary path of resistance.
