Abstract


Work place violence is widespread in the health sector. Doctors, nurses and social workers are all high on the list of occupations with serious stress levels while violence in the health sector constitutes almost a quarter of all violence at work. When violence occurs at the workplace, their negative effects cumulate in an exponential way, activating a vicious circle Empirical which is very difficult to break (Zapf et al., 2020). ‏
This study aimed to assess nurses' attitudes and reactions regarding workplace violence in Obstetrics and Gynecological Departments and assess nurses' reactions regarding workplace violence in Obstetrics and Gynecological Departments. This study was carried out at Obstetrics and Gynecological building.it is part of El Gamma hospitals, Zagazig University. The subject of this study included 180nurse by convenient sample.
Data of this study were collected through the period started at from 1st of October, 2019 to 1st of January, 2020. It has been done through three tools (Arabic structured Interviewing questioners' sheet included Part (I) general characteristics of nurses, Part (II): it is used to assess nurse’s exposure to work place violence & causes and sources of workplace violence, Part (III) it is used to assess types of workplace violence for nurses and forms of work place violence).
