“The Effect of Topical Phenytoin on Chemically Induced Oral Mucosal Ulcer in Albino Rats; Histological and Immunohistochemical study”
Nahla Wahba Hassanein Mohammed;
Abstract
Ulcers are very common diseases of the oral mucosa and may arise due to many disorders. Ulcers are characterized by interruption in the epithelium, C.T, or both, and in general are painful. Appropriate treatment and wound care speeds up the healing process, avoids chronicity and wound infection. Various treatment modalities have been used to reduce the duration of the wound healing process. One of those modalities was the use of phenytoin. Topical phenytoin has been used in many studies for a wide range of ulcers and infections in soft tissues and the results have been promising.
