Triple Innominate Osteotomy in Management of Residual Acetabular Dysplasia in Young Adolescent patients
Andrew Osama Refaat;
Abstract
• Acetabular dysplasia is among the anatomical abnormalities seen in developmental dislocation of the hip.
• Triple Pelvic osteotomy is the treatment of choice in young adolescents (from age of eight) with residual acetabular dysplasia after developmental dislocation of the hip or secondary to insufficient coverage of the femoral head
• According to the studies most of patients regain full range of motion after surgery and rehabilitation .
• Significant increase in CE angle and Acetabular Index in Post-operative assessment compared to Pre-operative.
• Highly significant increase in mean HHS score in Post-operative assessment compared to Pre-operative.
• Decrease risk of avascular necrosis of femoral head and 2ry osteoarthritis of hip.
• The high frequency of overcorrection mandates a careful pre- and intra-operative evaluation of acetabular version.
