Sedeek Mohamed Sedeek;
Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the late results of dislocation of
the elbow.
The study included 20 patients who had dislocation of the elbow.
The patients were subjected to clinical and radiological examination.
The age incidence in this study ranged between 8 and 53 years with a
peak incidence between 10 and 20. Males were affected in 80% ofthe
cases while f~males were affected in 20% of the cases.
The right side was affected in 55% of cases. 35% of the patients
were studentsI, fal. l on the outstretched hand was..

for (45%). of the cases. .and the sex, side of dislocation and the mechanism of injury.
The dislocation was posterolateral in 14 cases (70%) and posterior in
6 (30%). PosteLor dislocations gave better results than posterolateral ones.
Eleveri badents with dislocated elbow (55%) were treated within the first hours qf injury and 9 patients (45%) were treated after 6 hours. The
results were better in the patients treated within the first 6 hours but this
was found to be statistically insignificant
There was no significant statistical difference between the result
