Development of Multi-residues Method for Pesticide Residues Analysis in Essential Oils Using Chromatographic Technique

Mahmoud Samir Mohamed El Saied;

Abstract

Orange oil is an emerging new high-value product which considers by far the most widely produced essential oil in the world. orange oil has various uses in food sectors such as natural flavoring and preservatives. This is due to their antioxidant properties and their ability to prevent the growth of pathogens and spoiling microorganisms. Also, it has been used as an active ingredient for pharmaceutical products and cosmetics due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Orange oil is usually extracted from oil glands located in the peel of orange fruit by cold pressing this process gives a low yield of oil (about 1% of fruit weight). This process concentrates the pesticide residues in the oil. which may cause various health problems to humans if consumed and must be analyzed and monitored.
