A Comparative Study of Misoprostol and Oxytocin in the Management of Inevitable Abortion. A Randomised Trial

Abstract
Our study included fifty women presenting with inevitable abortion. The patients were randomly divided into three groups: Group ONE received intravenous oxytocin infusion in a gradually increasing concentration; Group TWO received oral Misoprostol (Cytotec) 200 ugm every 12 hours; Group lHREE (n=l5): received vagi_nal Misoprostol 200 ugm every 12 hours. The three groups were compared regarding the success of augmentation. We found no statistically significant difference between the three groups regarding the overall • success rate (complete expulsion rate within 24 hours.
