Abstract


Pregnancy is a biological function and an integral part of the social and environmental activity, bringing joy to the mother and family. Women’s bodies undergo substantial changes during pregnancy, which are brought by both hormonal and mechanical effects. These changes lead to a variety of common symptoms called minor discomforts including nausea and vomiting,, heartburn, constipation and others that in some women cause severe discomfort and negatively affects their pregnancy experience (Kepley et al., 2020) .
Concerning management of minor discomforts during pregnancy according to the study done by Aziz and Maqsood, (2016), Non-pharmacological therapies which based on evidence research findings should be considered as the first-line of treatment before going to pharmacological therapy. It mainly prevents the adverse effects to the fetus as well as the mother.
The present study aimed to examine the effectiveness of application evidence based measures on alleviating minor discomforts during 1st trimester of pregnancy. An intervention studyhad been implemented at Antenatal clinics at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital and completed through antenatal visits and between visits through telephone calls.
