Electronic Cigarette Use among University Students in Cairo: Prevalence, Perception and Determinants

Maiy Mohamed Alsayed Atwa;

Abstract

Tobacco use is the most leading cause of early morbidity and mortality. Globally, the recorded deaths due to smoking exceeded 7.1 million in 2016. Many studies have declared that the maleficent effects of smoking became more aggressive than the well-known murderous consequences of tobacco products consumption as cardiovascular diseases, respiratory illness and malignancy. Tobacco consumption speeds up the spread of the worldwide epidemic of tuberculosis, and it deteriorates difficult situations like mental disorders, HIV infection and alcohol addiction (Drope and Schluger, 2018).
