Abstract

Bacteriological examination of a total of 250 living and dead birds including ; 100 chickens, 70 ducks and 80 piegons , revealed that the total incidence of C.jejuni among this collective group of examined birds was (26%). Bacteriological examination of 65 cases of apparently normal and diseased chickens revealed an incidence of (35.4%) for C.jejuni ; as the incidence was(17.2%) among apparently normal chickens, while it was ( 56. 7%) among chicken suffering from pathological lesions. As for the dead chickens with pathological lesions for Campylobacteriosis the incidence was (40%)
Bacteriological examination of 56 apparently normal and diseased ducks showed an incidence of ( 19. 7%) for C.jejuni , as the incidence of· isolation from apparently normal ducks was (8.3%), while it was (28.12%) among diseased ducks with pathological lesions.
As for the samples obtained from dead ducks with pathological lesions for Campylobacteriosis , the incidence of isolation of C.jejuni was (62.5%).Bacteriological examination of ( 68) cases of apparently normal and diseased peigons, resulted in the isolation of C.jejuni with a total incidence of (13.23%) , as the incidence among apparently normal peigons was (5.6%), while it was (21.9%) among diseased peigons suffering from pathological lesions.
