Abstract


Acute lymphoblasticleukemia (ALL) isanaggressiveneoplasm oflymphoid progenitorcells. Itisthemostcommontypeofchildhoodmalignancy.

Specificmarkers havebeenidentified ashavingsignificantdiagnostic and prognostic value and arecurrently used to tailorthe therapeutic strategies.
ThetetraspaninCD82,anadhesionmolecule,performsan importantrole in the interaction between leukemia stemcells (LSCs)and theirniche. CD82 was identifiedasa potentialregulatorofHSPCadhesion and migration.

The presentstudy wasconducted onthirty-five children with newly diagnosed and relapsedALLpatientsandfifteenageandsexmatchhealthycontrol groupfreeofanycancer typeto assessCD8 2expressionin patientswithpediatric ALL.
