Abstract


Vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) occurs especially after menopause due to a dramatic reduction in levels of circulating estrogens. From 45% to 57% of menopausal women are affected by discomfort due to VVA.
Aging and perineal trauma can lead to vaginal atrophy. Aging-related decreases in estrogen levels are a main cause of vaginal atrophy, which progresses more rapidly 4–5 years after the last menstruation.
Vaginal wall rejuvenating tries to give back its firmness, its elasticity, its humidity, and its thickness. Estrogen therapy is an effective way to treat vaginal atrophy, but some patients do not accept it because it may lead to endometrial tumors.
In this study, we aimed to assess the efficacy PRP injection in relieving symptoms of senile vaginitis.
This study was performed on total 60 postmenopausal women who presented with symptoms of senile vaginitis (burning, itching, bleeding, dyspareunia, sexual dysfunction) and divided into two groups, 30 for each group.
This study revealed that 4-month after PRP injection, Role limitations were significantly improved in PRP group toward decrease in role limitation and increase physical health and improvement in role limitation due to emotional problems.
