internally by the same means.
The age incidence in this study varied between 17 and 65 years with an average of 41 years. Male were affected in 65% of the cases and
females in 35%. The left side was affected in 62.5% of the cases while
the right side was affected only in 37.5%.
Traffic accidnets caused the highest percentage of this fractures
52.5% followedbyfallingfrom a height (22.5%). A higher incidence of affection was found among workers 52.5% followed by housewives (25%) and students (23.5%). Partial displacement ofthe fracture (Type Ill according to Garden's classification) was found in 52.5 % of cases while full displacement (fracture Type IV) was present in 47.5%.
u
Associated skeletal injuries were found in 37.5% of the cases.
40 % of the patients could be operated upon during the first week after
trauma, 25% during the second week and the remaining 35% during the
third andfourth weeks
internally by the same means.
