Abstract


Medication therapy aims to improve therapeutic outcomes and quality of life, while minimizing the risk of harm to the patient. Medication errors thwart these goals. Most medication errors occur when the nurses fail to follow routine procedure in medication administration. So the nurse is considered the last line of defense to prevent medication errors between a medication order and medication administration. For that, the main responsibility of nurses in hospitals is to ensure the safe and reliable administration of medication, for effective medication therapy for patients .Staff education can be an important medication error preventions strategy for medication safety. (ISMP), 2010)
