Synthesis and characterization of carbon-polymer nanocomposites and their application in waste water treatment

Abstract

Our thesis is divided into four chapters. It focuses on the preparation of polyaniline-montmorillonite (PANI-NF-MMT), polyaniline-rice husk silica nanoparticles (PANI-NF-RH-SNP) and graphene-polypyrrole nanoparticles composite (GRP-PPY-NP). The developed nanocomposites achieved superior adsorption uptake efficiency for removal of Zn2+ and Cr3+ ions compared to polyaniline nanofibers alone. On the other hand, graphene-polypyrrole nanoparticles composite were developed. Polypyrrole nanoparticles were polymerized on the surface of graphene sheets originated from graphite using facile approach. The developed nanocomposite achieved superior adsorption uptake efficiency for removal of Mn+2 than polypyrrole nanoparticles alone.
The introduction is a general overview polyaniline-montmorillonite (PANI-NF-MMT), polyaniline-rice husk silica nanoparticles (PANI-NF-RH-SNP) and graphene-polypyrrole
