COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN TRANSTELEPHONIC AND HOLTER MONITORING OF ARRHYTHMIA SURVEILLANCE IN SYMPTOMATIC PATIENTS

Abstract


The aim of this work was to compare between Holter and

• transtelephonic monitoring in evaluation of arrhythmia surveillance in
symptomatic ambulatory patients.






The present study was carried out on 20- patients (12- males and eight females), their age ranged from I7- years to 65- years old. 'Those patients were referred to Emergency Hospital, Mansoura University, for
• analysis of symptomatic rhythm disturbance from the first of September
1997 to the end of January 1998. Those patients were previously
diagnosed to have significant arrhythmia. The patients were divided into three groups:



group I: I5- patients complaining of palpitation only.

group II: three patients suffering from palpitation associated

with chest pain.
• group III: two patients suffering from palpitation associated with lightheadedness.



All patients were subjected to the following:

- Careful history taking and clinical examination.

- 12- leads ECG,
