Abstract
Respiratory diseases associated with Mycoplasma gallisepticum infection is of continuing economic concern to poultry industry throughout the world. Control of mycoplasmosis frequently based on intensive use of antimycoplasmal drugs. Aivlosin is a recent drug introduced in this field.
Three hundreds and thirty, one day old, Mycoplasma free male broiler chickens were used in this experimental work. Seventy chicks were kept as normal control group ( non infected - non treated) and ten chicks used for confirmation ofMycoplasma free status. Two hundreds and fifty chicks were divided into two main experiment as follow:
The first experiment: 120 chicks were divided into 6 equal groups
each of 20 chicks:
Group 1: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight orally from I-5 day
7
of age and samples were collected at 1 week of age.
Group 2: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight orally from I-5 day of age and samples were collected at 2 week of age.
Group 3: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight orally from 1-5 day of age and samples were collected at 3 week of age.
Group 4: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight (therapeutic dose) from 1-5 day of age and another therapeutic dose from 21-25 day of age and samples were collected at 4 week of age.
