Organizational Justice and its Effect on Staff Nurses Burnout

Abstract


Organizational justice denotes the extent to which employees perceive the fairness of their workplace procedures, interactions and outcomes. It would be achieved through fostering the sense of attachment, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction among employees. Hence, when workplaces give consideration to it, this would certainly lead to improvement of their employees’ performance with decrease in their burnout defined as the final outcome of long-term exposure to chronic stress ending up with feeling physically and emotionally worn out.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of organizational justice on staff nurse's burnout through assessing the levels of organizational justice as perceived by staff nurses, assessing the levels of burnout among them, and finding out the effect of organizational justice on staff nurse's burnout. It was conducted on a sample of 105 staff nurses working in the Specialized Suez Canal University Hospital at Ismailia governorate using an analytic cross-sectional design.
